Champion Stardom Bound sold privately

US CHAMPION Stardom Bound has been sold privately by a partnership headed by IEAH Stables in a deal brokered by Meg Levy's Bluewater Sales.

The buyer's identity and price paid is undisclosed. The four-year-old daughter of Tapit is in foal to Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes winner Big Brown.

A$375,000 two-year-old purchase by trainer Christopher Paasch, Stardom Bound was a brilliant two-year-old, capturing a trio of Grade 1 events including the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies en route to championship honours.

After selling for $5.7 million to Nick Sallusto on behalf of a partnership led by IEAH Stables at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky November Select Sale, Stardom Bound returned to win the Grade 1 Las Virgenes Stakes and Grade 1 Santa Anita Oaks.

She retired earlier this year as the winner of five of 12 starts and nearly $1.9 million in earnings.
