Stormy River on the scoresheet at Saint-Cloud

TANA River became the first winner for her sire Stormy River when successful on her second start in a 6f claimer at Saint-Cloud on Friday.

Bred by Sca Elevage De Tourgeville and MmeH. Erculiani in France, the filly is the first winner out of the Saumarez mare Saulace, a placed half-sister to Grade 2 winner Lady Of Venice. Trainer Jean-Paul Gallorini paid €18,000 for Tana River at last year's Arqana August Sale.

She is one of seven runners and 66 foals from the first crop of Stormy River, who became the first Group 1 winner for the recently deceased Verglas when taking the 2006 Prix Jean Prat. Stormy River won five races and nearly £600,000 in total, and is standing this season for €6,000 at Haras d'Etreham in France.
