European links to big race winners in Japan

SYMBOLI KRIS S, the champion first season sire in Japan in 2007, continued a promising start for  his 2011 runners by siring San Carlo to win the Grade 3 Hankyu Hai Stakes on turf at Hanshin. The 2002 and 2003 Horse of the Year in Japan has also sired Danon Come On, who picked up £110,514.68 for finishing fourth in the Grade 1 February Stakes at Tokyo.

Like San Carlo, whose grandam is the champion Italian filly Miss Secreto, Victoire Pisa, who won the Grade 2 Nakayam Kinen on turf at Tokyo, has a pedigree with links to  Europe.

The son of Neo Universe, who is in line for a crack at the Dubai World Cup, is out of Whitewater Affair, who was second in the Yorkshire Oaks for her owner/breeder John Greetham.

Since her export to Japan, she has made a real mark, also producing Yasuda Kinen winner Asakusa Den'En.
