Two bonus winners at Pontefract

TWO Racing Post Yearling Bonuses were won at Pontefract on Wednesday by cheaply purchases.

The Intikhab filly Sweet Chilli won the European Breeders' Fund William Hill Maiden Stakes at Pontefract, owned and trained by David Barron and bred by Hyperion Bloodstock.

She was knocked down to Harrogate Bloodstock for €8,500 at the Tattersalls September yearling sale and is the second foal of the unraced Gilded Time mare Ofayrah from the family of Kheleyf.

In the following race, the Gala Coral Maiden Stakes for three-year-olds, Greyfriars Drummer landed a bonus for owner Greyfriars UK Ltd.

The colt cost 14,000gns from Tattersalls October Book 2 and is a half-brother to smart miler Lovelace, who was formerly trained by Johnston.
