Life Is Sweet wins the Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic at Santa Anita


Sweet Life Kentucky Broodmare of the Year

SWEET LIFE, whose produce include champion Sweet Catomine and last year's Breeders' Cup Ladies Classic winner Life Is Sweet, has been named Kentucky Broodmare of the Year.

Sweet Life is by Kris S out of Symbolically, by Flying Paster, and her career highlight came when second in the Grade 1 Beverley Hills Handicap, a 1m2f race on turf for fillies and mares. She raced from two to four years, retiring with a record of four wins from 13 starts.

A half-sister to three black type winners including Grade 1 handicap winner Pirate's Revenge, she has bred two other winners, Sweet Way, by Giant's Causeway, and Gold West, by Gone West.

Sweet Life is owned and bred by Mr and Mrs Martin Wygod, who also owned and raced Sweet Catomine and Life Is Sweet, both daughters of Storm Cat, sending the former to Julio Canani who alsotrained Sweet Life herself.
