Swain and Kingmambo mares fetch €55,000

A pair of €55,000 lots are setting the pace and the first of these is the placed Dance To The Band, whom Italian agent Arturo Brambilla bought from J.K. Thoroughbreds. The seven-year-old daughter of Kingmambo, who is in foal to Oratorio, is a daughter of Dermot Weld's top class Dance Design who won the 1996 Irish Oaks and the Tattersalls Gold Cup the following year.

Some time later Marc Antoine Berghracht equalled this price for the Swain mare Angelic Girl who was consigned by Mickley Stud. The five-year-old, who was not covered last year, is a half-sister to the high-class French juvenile and Classic prospect On Verra who filled the runner-up spot in last year's Prix Marcel Boussac. Their dam is the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches runner-up Karmifira.
