Supplementary entries boost BBAG Mixed

MEMBERS of the supplementary catalogue rescued the second session of the BBAG Mixed Sale on Friday by providing three yearlings that sold for €30,000 or more.

They were headed by an Oratorio colt from the family of Queen Mary Stakes winner Elletelle, who was knocked down to the Italian-based Racing Factory SNC for €55,000.

Dirk Eisele of BBA Germany paid €38,000 for an Ad Valorem half-sister to Bahrain Trophy winner Anousa while Thomas Gehrig went to €30,000 on behalf of an undisclosed client for a  daughter of Marju, who is a three-parts sister to Yorkshire Oaks heroine My Emma.

With 231 horses listed as changing hands from 278 offered - 75 fewer than last year - it was no surprise to see the aggregate drop by 12 per cent to €1,389,600.

The average and median both dropped by two per cent to €5,800 and €6,016 respectively.
