Sunday's big jumps races - the breeding angles Morgiana Hurdle (Grade 1, 2m)

THE Willie Mullins-trained Thousand Stars rounded off a fantastic weekend for French-breds when recording an impressive success in the Morgiana Hurdle at Punchestown on Sunday.

French-breds dominated Saturday's action with Master Minded and Kauto Star landing the Amlin 1965 Chase and Betfair Chase at Ascot and Haydock, and Grandouet and Dynaste marking themselves down as young jumpers to follow with impressive victories at Haydock.

Seven-year-old Thousand Stars, who was bred by Mlle Camille and Mlle Ophelie Demercastel, is the best performer by the Group 3 Prix Messidor winner Grey Risk. The son of Kendor has just 82 foals from ten crops aged three and above to represent him (his average crop size is just eight) and stands for €600 at Haras National d'Aurillac.

Thousand Stars is the only winner from two foals out of Livanianna, a winning Saint Estephe mare from the family of talented French hurdler Gold Chick.

Bred in Ireland by John O'Mahony, Last Instalment shares his late sire, Anshan, with the likes of Asian Maze and Quantitativeeasing and is the only winner out of the unraced Insan mare Final Instalment. Bet In Running Craddockstown Novice Chase (Grade 2, 2m)

Oscar was also responsible for the fourth home, Delphi Mountain while later on the card, another representative, Oscars Well, ran second in the Morgiana Hurdle.

Bred and owned by James Treacy, six-year-old Days Hotel is the latest talented jumper out of the placed Strong Gale mare Call Catherine following the Grade 1-winning hurdler Travino and 2009 Gerry Feilden Handicap Hurdle third Trafalgar Road.

Days Hotel is the penultimate foal out of Call Catherine, who is the dam of four winners in all.
