First Australian stakes win for Zenno Rob Roy

JAPANESE stallion Zenno Rob Roy has sired his first southern hemisphere stakes winner, after Enjin Number Nine took the Listed Manfred Stakes at Sandown in Australia on Thursday with dual Group 1 winner Star Witness behind.

Zenno Rob Roy is a son of Sunday Silence who shuttled to Java Thoroughbreds in New Zealand for the 2006 season. He stands at Shadai Stallion Station.

Enjin Number Nine was bred by New Zealander Sue Oomen and bought by Stefan Seketa from Oomen's Running Horse Lodge at the 2009 Karaka Ready to Run Sale for NZ$36,000 (£17,203/€20,255). He now looks to be a contender for the Group 1 Australian Guineas at Flemington.
