Sunday best in Sceptre for Holy Roman

Sceptre Stakes (Group 3 fillies & mares), Doncaster 7f

Winner: Sunday Times

3yo b f Holy Roman Emperor - Forever Times
(So Factual)

COOLMORE sire Holy Roman Emperor was represented by his eighth Pattern winner when his daughter Sunday Times landed Thursday's Sceptre Stakes at Doncaster.

Seven of the stallion's Group winners are fillies. The others include last season's tough and top-class Banimpire, this year's easy 1,000 Guineas winner Homecoming Queen, Jersey Stakes scorer Ishvana and exciting juvenile filly Maureen.

Holy Roman Emperor, whose oldest crop are four-year-olds, was represented by his first Group-winning colt only last Sunday when Leitir Mor won the Go And Go Round Tower Stakes.

Sunday Times was bred by Times of Wigan out of their smart sprint handicapper Forever Times, a daughter of So Factual who won six races between 5-7f and was a close fifth in the Ayr Gold Cup.

Forever Times is out of Times of Wigan's fine producer Simply Times, who is also responsible for Hungerford Stakes winner Welsh Emperor, Listed-winning sprinter Majestic Times and smart sprint handicapper Brave Prospector.

Forever Times is also the dam of Listed-placed 6f winner Question Times (by Shamardal).

Sunday Times was not sold for just 10,000gns at Book 2 of the 2010 Tattersalls October yearling sale.
