Eagle Mountain wins the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup at Sha Tin

Eagle Mountain will stand in New Zealand

EAGLE Mountain, a winner of the Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Cup who placed in two Derbies and a Breeders' Cup Turf, is to stand as a stallion at Nick and Anne-Marie King's Brighthill Farm in New Zealand.

A versatile performer regarding trip, Eagle Mountain was trained by Aidan O'Brien to win his debut over 6f, running a respectable 5th in the 2,000 Guineas along with his English and Irish Derby efforts.

Of his five career victories, two were over 1m and two over 1m2f. He was trained by Mike De Kock as a four-year-old, for whom he won the Hong Kong Cup.

He is a son of the excellent miler Rock Of Gibraltar, himself by Danehill, out of the Darshaan mare Masskana. His half-brother Sulk won the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac and was a champion two-year-old in France.

Eagle Mountain will stand this southern hemisphere season at NZ$12,000 at Brighthill Farm alongside Perfectly Ready and Patapan.
