Mooakada another potential star for Montjeu

MONTJEU looks to have another star on the horizon judging by the smooth win of Sheikh Hamdan's Mooakada in division two of the 1m maiden at Newmarket today.

Shadwell has enjoyed plenty of success with this family over the years as the filly's third dam is 1,000 Guineas and Prix Marcel Boussac heroine Shadayid, herself a half-sister to Group 2 winner and Shadwell stallion Dumaani.

Mooakada is the first winner out of Sulaalah, who is a half-sister to 1m winner Iktibas, now at stud in Yorkshire.

Treble for Oasis Dream
Gosden had been earlier represented by the Oasis Dream colt Run For The Hills, who became the six winner out of the smart Maid For The Hills when taking the opening 6f maiden.

Oasis Dream completed a treble later in the day courtesy of On OurWay, an impressive winner of the Houghton Conditions Stakes, and Redcar maiden winner Impressible, a half-sister to Nunthorpe Stakes hero Reverence.

The imposing On Our Way is the second foal out of the Zamindar mare Singed, a winninghalf-sister to Listed winner Inhabitant.

More stakes success for Cape Cross
Charlie Farnsbarns sprung a 50/1 shock when outbattling Bankable to take the Darley Stakes. The Brian Meehan-trained colt, who is out of a half-sister to the Group 1-placed juvenile Alboostan and Oaks third Crown Of Light, is the 16th individual stakes winner for his sire, Cape Cross, this season.
