Successful US debut for half-sister to Attraction

FEDERATION, the three-year-old half-sister to Attraction, made the perfect start to her American career for Christophe Clement on Thursday when successful in a 1m 1/2 furlong allowance race at Tampa Bay Downs in Florida.

The daughter of Motivator was scoring for the second time in her seven-race career, having also won her penultimate start for Roger Charlton, a mile maiden at Thirsk in July.

Campaigned by the Duke of Roxburghe and bred in Britain by his Floors Stud, Federation is a half-sister to four winners in Britain and Ireland topped by the brilliant Efisio filly Attraction, whose ten victories for Mark Johnston included the 2004 English and Irish 1,000 Guineas.

Another half-sibling, the Cape Cross colt Racketeer, won the 2009 Esher Cup.

They are out of Flirtation, an unplaced daughter of Pursuit Of Love.
