US sire Closing Argument gets first winner

MIDST, a daughter of first-season sire Closing Argument, who finished second in the Kentucky Derby behind Giacomo, became the first winner for the stallion when successful over 4f110yds at Keeneland.

A $40,000 OBS October yearling, she won by four and a quarter lengths. Midst is her sire's only runner to date.

Closing Argument, by Successful Appeal and out of Mrs Greeley (Mr Greeley), began his stud career at Sequel Stallions in Florida and now stands at Hill ‘n' Dale Farm at a fee of $12,500 for 2009. His first crop yearlings sold for up to $300,000.
