Strong catalogue for Tatts Autumn HIT Sale

RECENT Group 3-winning two-year-old Ayaar is among the 1,426 horses catalogued to the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale on October 29 to November 1.

The catalogue is marginally smaller than the 1,496-strong entry of last year, at which 848 horses - 83 per cent of those offered - were sold for a total of 16,585,600gns and average of 19,557gns. The sale was topped by Measuring Time, who was sold to Anthony Stroud for 310,000gns, and included Saturday's Australian Group 1 winner Glencadam Gold, a 135,000gns purchase by McKeever Bloodstock and Gai Waterhouse.

Other stand-out lots in this year's renewal include classy sprinter Humidor, who runs in tomorrow's Prix de l'Abbaye, and this season's Windsor Castle Stakes winner Hototo.

Last season's Autumn Stakes winner Rockinante has been catalogued from Richard Hannon's yard while among Andrew Balding's entries is Highland Knight, the recent winner of the Oettingen-Rennen at Baden-Baden. Sir Mark Prescott's draft includes useful handicapper Motivado, who was last seen running fourth in the Ebor Handicap.

Gordon Lord Byron is catalogued off the back of a personal best effort when second to Society Rock in the Betfred Sprint Cup. Also catalogued to the sale in good form is Black Spirit, winner of the Dubai Duty Free Arc Trial last time out for Clive Cox.

Tattersalls Chairman Edmond Mahony said: "The Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale has had a remarkable run of success recently with no fewer than eight Group 1 winners in the last 26 months, two of which, Makfi and Royal Diamond, have been Classic winners.

"With so many successful graduates it is little surprise that the sale attracts such great interest and we look forward to welcoming the usual cosmopolitan range of buyers from all over the world to Park Paddocks."
