Strawberrydaiquiri is fourth for new US trainer

STRAWBERRYDAIQUIRI, a 2010 Royal Ascot winner,  made a promising start for her new trainer Ben  Cecil when finishing fourth in the Grade 2 Buena Vista Handicap on Monday.

The Newsells Park-bred daughter of Dansili, who won Ascot's Group 2 Windsor Forest Stakes, led into the stretch but had to concede weight to the winner City To City, a five-year-old daughter of the Lane's End sire City Zip (Carson City). City Zip is a half-brother to Ghostzapper.

Racing at Oaklawn Park saw Castaway, a son of Darley's second-season sire Street Sense, follow-up his debut success with victory in one of the divisions of the Grade 3 Southwest Stakes.

Trained by Bob Baffert,  Castaway runs in the colours of Ballydoyle mainstay Derrick Smith. He was bought as a Keeneland September yearling for $435,000 by Demi O'Byrne. His third dam, Lady Winborne, is a half-sister to Allez France.
