Strategic Prince: two chances of a first winner at Navan today


Two chances of first winners by sire at Navan

FIRST-SEASON sires Strategic Prince and Moss Vale have the chance toget off the mark in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fund Fillies Maiden (3.30) at Navan today.

The David Redvers-owned Muckle Bahoochie will be the third runner for Moss Vale and second trained by Ger Lyons, who ran Greek Canyon by the Rathbarry Stallion.

Muckle Bahoochie is the first foal of Multiple, by Mull Of Kintyre, a 5f winner at two before scoring over 7f and 1min the US. She cost €27,000 from the Tattersalls Ireland September yearling sale.

Strategic Prince has also had two runners to date and is double-handed in the Navan maiden. Exactness, a 3,700gns buy for owner-trainer Ken Condon at Tattersalls October Book 3, has her third run having been unplaced at Dundalk and Leopardstown, while Taking Chances makes her debut.

Trainer Willie McCreery paid €3,500 for Taking Chances at the Tattersalls Ireland September yearling sale, the sixth foal of the Theatrical mare Phantom Act.

The field includes two runners for fellow first-season sire Red Clubs, who has produced dual winner Jack Who's He, and one by Dark Angel, who already has four individual winners on the board. Second-season sire Holy Roman Emperor has three representatives amongthe 14 set to race.
