Parading retired to stand at Claiborne

PARADING, a Grade 2-winning son of Pulpit, has been retired and will join the roster at Claiborne Farm in Kentucky for 2010 where he will stand at $3,500.

Bred and raced by the Phipps Stable, Parading won three black-type races - all over 1m1f - including the Grade 2 Dixie Stakes on turf at Pimlico. He won a total of seven races from 21 starts.

Parading's win in the Grade 3 Ben Ali Stakes on Keeneland's Polytrack saw him draw an impressive seven and a half lengths clear of his nearest rival.

He is out of the Storm Cat mare On Parade, a juvenile winner and Grade 3-placed sister to the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Storm Flag Flying who is out of another Breeders'Cup Juvenile winner in My Flag. The distaff line is nicely capped by the third dam, the champion race- and broodmare Personal Ensign, who also produced War Emblem's sire Our Emblem as well as Traditionally.

Trainer Claude McGaughey said: "This horse is extremely talented and very good looking. As well as the sons of Pulpit are doing at stud, with his talent, looks and pedigree, I think he will make a very good stallion. And at this fee, he's certainly a great value".
