Listed winner in France for Whitsbury-bred colt

STEPPER POINT, a Kyllachy colt bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud and trained by William Muir, won today's Listed Criterium de Vitesse for two-year-olds at Longchamp.

The colt galloped to an easy three and a half length victory over Sea Trial, a Panis colt trained by Criquette Head.

Stepper Point was sold by Whitsbury at the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale to Muir for 45,000gns. He is out of Sacre Coeur, a daughter of Whitsbury Stud stallion Compton Place, and from a family developed by the stud for a number of generations. She was a 6f winner at two and is half-sister to Lonely Heart, a dual 1m2f winner at three and four, and dam of sprinter-miler Leitrim House, who won the Tetrarch Stakes (G3) and finished fourth in the Irish 2,000 Guineas.

Kyllachy is the sire of six European stakes winners in 2011, inlcuding Dragon Pulse, who beat Parish Hall in the Futurity Stakes (G2) in August.
