War Front gets
Grade 2 winner

THE With Anticipation Stakes (G2) run at Saratoga on Thursday was collected with ease by the Team Valor-owned State Of Play.

The colt, bred by Stone Farm and Dell Hancock, made most of the running and bravely battled back after being headed in the straight. His victory gave Team Valor a 13th stakes winner for the season - Animal Kingdon's Kentucky Derby victory being the highlight.

The colt will now be targeted towards the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, the With Anticipation Stakes being a "win and you are in" race.

State Of Play is by the Danzig stallionWar Front, who stands at Claiborne Farm. He was twice second at Grade 1 level, including in the Vosburgh Stakes behind Henny Hughes.

He is the leading second-crop sire of 2011, having had six stakes winners this year, including two Grade 1 winners - The Factor, winner of the Pat O'Brien Stakes, and Summer Soiree, who won the Del Mar Oaks. His Fountain Of Youth Stakes (G2) winner, Soldat, is War Front's third highest earner of the year.

The stallion has 21 lots catalogued in the upcoming Keeneland September Yearling Sale and his fee for 2011 was $15,000
