Inglis extend broodmare sale to four days

INGLIS have extended their Australian Easter Broodmare Sale from three days to four after a strong entry of 948 lots. The sale will be held on April 13-16.

Inglis bloodstock director Jonathan D'Arcy said: "The catalogue assembled boasts an outstanding array of breeding stock with something for everyone.

"With entries topping 900, we decided to extend the sale to four days, with quality from start to finish. A General session of 131 mares will conclude the sale, following 817 mares in the Select session.

"Some of the high end mares are sure to command attention from international quarters. We are honoured to be offering Champion international mare Sun Classique in foal to Oasis Dream. This represents a full circle, as she was also sold in utero at this sale."

One of the most sought after lots could be Chinchilla Rose, a multiple Group winner and sister to the dam of Star Witness, winner of Saturday's Group 1 Blue Diamond Stakes.

Toorak Park Stud have a dispersal of 39 lots, among them Group 1 winner Serious Speed and the outstanding producer Picholine. The Toorak dispersal will be held on day one, along with the 53 lots from Arrowfield Stud.

Patinack Farm will offer 103 lots as part of its annual unreserved reduction across the four days of the sale, while Darley Stud has 44 mares catalogued as part of its annual reduction. Coolmore, Amarina Farm, Shipton Lodge and Invermien also have good-sized drafts.

The catalogue will be available online later in the week.
