Star Lordship mare Swiss Lake foals Pivotal filly

LORDSHIP Stud in Newmarket has welcomed a new arrival out of their star mare Swiss Lake, a filly foal by Pivotal.

The filly is a sister to Group 3 Prix du Petit Couvert and Group 3 Prix de Meautry heroine Swiss Diva, who was retired last year after winning six of 20 starts in the care of David Elsworth.

Lordship Stud tweeted on Monday: "A full sister to dual Group 3 winner and once Abbaye favourite Swiss Diva, let's hope this one is as half as good."

Swiss Lake is also the dam of Listed Hopeful Stakes heroine Swiss Dream (by Oasis Dream), Gimcrack and Coventry Stakes runner-up Swiss Franc (by Mr Greeley) and last season's Listed-placed juvenile Swiss Spirit (by Invincible Spirit). Another son, Swiss Cross (by Cape Cross), is the winner of over £32,000 in prize-money. In fact, all of the mare's progeny bar Swiss Diva were successful on the track last season.

Swiss Lake was extremely quick for Gerard Butler, winning the Listed LansdownStakes and Listed St Hugh's Stakes in the colours of the Thoroughbred Corporation.

The daughter of Indian Ridge, who is out of the Listed-placed sprinter Blue Iris, also has a yearling filly by Dansili.
