Sea The Stars: will be visited by Gestüt Karlshof's top producer Sacarina

  PICTURE: EDWARD WHITAKER

Star German broodmare booked to Sea The Stars

SACARINA, dam of Group 1 winners and full-siblings Samum, Salve Regina and Schiaparelli, is to visit Sea The Stars this year.

Her three Group 1 winners were all by Monsun by whom she has been covered eight times. Last season she was covered by Monsun's son Manduro.

The Gestüt Karlshof-owned mare is by Old Vic, whose progeny are more renowned in the jumps sphere, but the British-bred broodmare has excelled as a producer of Flat horses since being exported to Germany. Sacarina is now an 18-year-old.

Another mare with German connections to feature in Sea The Stars' first book is Quilanga, a nine-year-old by Lomitas owned by Gestüt Fährhof who won a Group 3 at Deauville when trained by Andreas Wohler.
