Stacelita a six time Grade 1 winner, has been retired, according to the Bloodhorse.com, and will be covered by leading US stallion Smart Strike, the sire of Curlin, English Channel, and Lookin At Lucky.

The six-year-old French mare has recently been retired from racing following four starts in USA last year, winning two of these Grade 1 races.

Winner of the 2009 Prix de Diane, Stacelita also landed the Grade 1 Beverley D and Flower Bowl International Stakes.

Martin S Schwartz bought an interest in the mare from her breeder, Jean-Pierre Dubois in 2009, but following last season's the Breeders' Cup, when she was the unplaced favourite in the Filly & Mare Turf, the daughter of Monsun was purchased by Teruya Yoshida, who this week acquired Sarafina.
