STACELITA (f Monsun - Soignee by Dashing Blade)
Breeder: J-P Dubois

LAST season's Prix de Diane heroine Stacelita returned to winning ways in this Group 3 event to score by one-and-a-half lengths from Court Canibal and Russian Cross.

Her sire, Monsun, was also responsible for the fourth home, Soberania.

Stacelita is the leading female runner by her sire, whose 12 crops of racing age also include the top-class colts Manduro, Shirocco and Samum. The Group 1-winning son of Konigsstuhl, who is 20-years-old and almost blind, stands at Gestut Schlenderhan for a private fee.

Stacelita is the first foal out of Soignee, a Listed-winning daughter of the 1989 Dewhurst Stakes winner Dashing Blade. Soignee's second foal, Sandy Girl (by Footstepsinthesand), has won three times to date in France while her third foal is a two-year-old filly by Shamardal.

Monsun represented a natural cross for Soignee as she is a half-sister to two high-class runners by the stallion in Group 2 winner Simoun and Listed winner Soudaine. In addition, the Monsun - Dashing Blade cross had previously produced the Grade 2 winner Noble Stella.
