Lovelace has his first mares scanned in foal

LOVELACE has had his first mares scanned in foal at Springlodge Stud in County Longford.

Among the mares the Group 2 winner has covered in his first book are Divine Island, the dam of Divine Music, a close third in Thursday's Listed Prix Jacques Laffitte at Maisons-Laffitte, as well as daughters of Elnadim, Green Desert, Marju, Key Of Luck and Tagula.

Lovelace, the joint-best son of Royal Applause on Racing Post Ratings alongside leading sire Acclamation, retired to Justin and Leo Temple's Springlodge Stud at a fee of €1,000 this year.

Lovelace won nine races including the Darley-Oettingen Rennen over 1m and theSupreme Stakes over 7f.

He was bred by Mary Taylor out of the winning Polar Falcon mare Loveleaves, a half-sister to Group 1-placed sprinter Headstrong from the family of Grade 1 scorer and sire Stroll.
