Teofilo sister among first New Approach foals

A CLOSELY related half-sister to champion juvenile Teofilo is among the first flurry of foals by Derby winner New Approach.

Teofilo's dam Speirbhean on Saturday produced a filly described by Darley stud director Liam O'Rourke as "a quality, sizeable, well-made, attractive sort."

Teofilo and New Approach are both sons of Galileo.

Speirbhean, a daughter of Danehill, also has a two-year-old sister to Teofilo - called Teo's Sister - and was rested for the 2008 breeding season.

Another new arrival by New Approach is a bay colt out of The Queen's winning Daylami mare Daring Aim born at The Royal Studs on January 21.

Daring Aim is a daughter of dual Group 2 winner Phantom Gold and has produced two winners to date.

Other newly born New Approach foals include a filly out of Group 3 Prix Miesque heroine White Rose and a filly out of Posterity born at Ennistown Stud on January 24.

New Approach embarked on his stallion career at Dalham Hall Stud in Newmarket at £30,000 last year, and commands the same fee there this season.
