Mount Nelson: covered 110 mares

Specifically, the dam of Speciosa and also a half-sister to champion racemare Pride, gave birth to a bay filly on Monday, while Equiano's dam Entente Cordiale produced a filly on Thursday.

Mount Nelson, a son of Rock Of Gibraltar and a half-brother to last season's Group 2 Great Voltigeur Stakes winner Monitor Closely, this year embarks on his second covering season at Newsells Park Stud in Hertfordshire at a fee of £8,000. He covered 110 mares last year.

Newsells Park general manager Julian Dollar said:  "We couldn’t be happier with what we have seen and heard about the first few Mount Nelson foals, particularly these two lovely fillies.

"They both have strength, scope and masses of quality.  If first indications are anything to go by, Mount Nelson is certainly stamping his stock."
