Pressing to start stallion career in Turkey

PRESSING, a German and Italian Group 1 winner and triple of the Group 2 Topkapi Trophy, Turkey's richest race, has been sold to The Turkish Racehorse Breeders and Owners association as a stallion prospect in a deal brokered by Kern/Lillingston Association.

The son of Soviet Star began his career in Italy but was switched to Michael Jarvis's Newmarket stable as a four-year-old in 2007, after which he won the Premio Roma and Grosser Dallmayr- Pries Bayerisches Zuchtrennen, both Group 1s over 1m2f.

Now a seven-year-old, Pressing is by Soviet Star out of the Riverman mare Rafif, who shares her second dam with Arc winner Sakhee.

Pressing will join Turkey's other stallions, Lion Heart, Dehere, Powerscourt, Younaguska, Cuvee, Victory Gallop, Sri Pekan and recent royal gift Banknote.
