Southwell: first UK winner for Red Bullet
ADENA SPRINGS sire Red Bullet had his first British winner on Tuesday when Tsar Bomba took the 5f Southwell Golf Club Members Selling Stakes.
The four-year-old was bought as a foal for $12,000 from the Keeneland November Breeding Stock sale and was unsold at the St Leger Yearling sale the following year when offered by Meadowlands Stud.
Red Bullet won the Preakness Stakes in 2000 where he beat Kentucky Derby hero Fusaichi Pegasus. The son of Unbridled is bred on the same cross - out of a Caro mare - as Unbridled's Song.
Retiring to stud in 2003 at a fee of $30,000, the fee for the 14-year-old is now private.
