Pathfork sold to stand atin South Africa

PATHFORK, the National Stakes winner of 2010, has been purchased to stand at Highlands Stud in South Africa on behalf of a syndicate that will be managed by John Freeman.

Stud owner Rhona Beck said: "I am delighted Highlands has acquired Pathfork. He brings the best of American pedigrees, strengthened through Sadler's Wells' influence in Europe and one the best sire producing linesavailable, to mares in South Africa.

"I'm confident his tremendous talent and excellent conformation will be the perfect complement to mares owned by South African breeders."

Pathfork, a son of Distorted Humor, raced only once last year when a distant seventh behind Frankel in his 2,000 Guineas demolition.

This year he was transferred to be trained by John Sadler in America retired but was retired from racing by his owners Tommy and Bonnie Hamilton in March due to injury.

Pathfork possesses a fine stallion's pedigree, as he is out of the Listed-winning Sadler's Wells mare Visions Of Clarity, a three-parts sister to star miler Spinning World from the family of Group 1 winners Chimes Of Freedom and Denon.
