Snitzel colt sizzles
in T J Smith Stakes

Australia: Patinack Farm The T J Smith (Group 1), 2yo, 1m

SIZZLING (c Snitzel - Admirelle by General Nediym)

Bred by Milburn Creek Thoroughbred Stud in Australia

THE Redoute's Choice stallion Snitzel sired his first Group 1 winner on Saturday when Sizzling narrowly denied Kabayan - a gelding from the first crop of Coolmore's Queen Anne Stakes hero Haradasun - to take the T J Smith Stakes at Eagle Farm.

The Kelso Wood-trained colt is a dual Group 2 winner already this year and one of seven Group winners overall from three crops of racing age by the Oakleigh Plate hero Snitzel, who stands alongside his sire for A$33,000 at Arrowfield Stud.

Snitzel came close to tasting success at the highest level earlier this year through Snitzerland, who ran second to Pierro in the Golden Slipper Stakes.

Bred by Milburn Creek Thoroughbred Stud, Sizzling was purchased by agent John Foote for A$260,000 at last year's Magic Millions Gold Coast Sale. He is the first foal out of the Listed-placed Admirelle, herself a daughter of Listed winner Laudemio, by Alzao.
