Smart Apartman first six-figure sale at DBS

THE Czech-bred Apartman, winner of a smart novice hurdle at Ayr on Scottish National day, was the first horse to hit six figures at this year’s Doncaster Spring Sale when selling for £100,000 this afternoon.

Agent Anthony Bromley signed for the four-year-old, who was offered from George Charlton's stable, and plans for the horse are still being finalised.

"Some people didn't rate the form at Ayr but I'm happy with it. He posted a very fast time and beat our Million In Mind horse Giorgio Quercus, who sells tomorrow and is decent," said Bromley.

"He's a gorgeous, scopey horse and the Charltons are sellers – they sold Tidal Bay here."

Bromley earlier paid £85,000 for Irish point-to-point winner Forlovenormoney, who will join Paul Nicholls, while trainer Donald McCain paid the same amount to get Cool Mission, who has been placed in two bumper starts for Alan Swinbank.
