Midday: the daughter of Oasis Dream has now won three British Group 1s

MIDDAY (Oasis Dream - Midsummer by Kingmambo)

Breeder: Juddmonte Farms

MIDDAY won her fourth race at the top-grade in the Darley Yorkshire Oaks, continuing a great York meeting for Oasis Dream.

But the Juddmonte hombred did not have to beat Sariska to achieve the accolade.

Favourite Sariska refused to race when the stalls opened, as did her half-sister Gull Wing when favourite for the Park Hill Stakes, her final career start.

Hailing from a very successful family that includes Fillies' Mile and Oaks heroine Reams Of Verse, Eclipse and Irish Champion Stakes scorer Elmaamul, as well as that of Zafonic and Zamindar, Midday's ten-year-old dam Midsummer could have more glory days to come.

Herself a runner-up in the Lingfield Oaks Trial, she has an unraced two-year-old colt by Monsun, named Midsummer Sun, in training with Henry Cecil, that holds an entry in the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes.

While Oasis Dream has had three Group 1 winners in France, Midday is his only produce to do so in Britain or Ireland.
