Half-brother to Our Vic adds to family record

Monday: Ten Up Novice Chase (Grade 2) 3m; Navan

SIEGEMASTER (g Lord Americo - Shabra Princess)

LORD Americo's season continued in good style on Monday afternoon when Siegemaster took this prestigious event despite an untidy leap at the penultimate fence.

Lord Americo, whose profile was raised through the likes of  Lord Noelie, Dempsey and Chief Dan George, has been represented by the winners of over £250,000 in prize-money this season including Old Roan Chase winner Knowhere, who holds entries in both the Cheltenham Gold Cup and Grand National.

Siegemaster, who was led out unsold at €28,000 at the 2004 Tattersalls Ireland Derby Sale, was bred by Colonel W. B. Mullins and is a half-brother to the popular and high-class chaser Our Vic.

The son of Old Vic has been a grand flag-bearer for the Pipe yard for seven years, winning 11 races including last season's Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham and the totesport Bowl Chase, in which he memorably claimed the scalp of Kauto Star.

Shabra Princess is also the dam of multiple jumps winner Commercial Flyer (Carroll House). The daughter of Buckskin was herself placed twice over fences at six years.
