Shark Man
strikes for Arakan

SHARK Man gave Arakan his first winner on Thursday when successful in the 5f maiden at Wolverhampton.

Despite hanging slightly to his left, the Charlie McBride-trained colt maintained a relentless challenge down the centre of the track to score by one and a quarter lengths.

It was third time lucky for Shark Man, who was bred by John Grimes in Ireland. Although a €16,500 purchase as a foal, he was retained for just 1,000gns at Book 4 of the Tattersalls October Sale.

The sixth foal out of the placed Polish Precedent mare Sharkiyah, Shark Man is a half-brother to two winners including the Listed-placed Swing The Ring (Rossini).

His second dam is the Group 3 winner Peace Girl.

Dual Group 3 winner Arakan standsat Ballyhane Stud in Ireland for €3,000. The son of Nureyev has 104 two-year-olds to run for him this year.
