Alain de Royer-Dupre: trains Shareta, winner of the Group 3 Prix Minerve

Footstepsinthesand and Sinndar sire the two Deauville Group winners

THE two Group 3 races for fillies at Deauville today produced two easy winners: Shareta (Sinndar) was successful by an easy 3l in the Prix Minerve, while the Footstepsinthesand filly Sandy's Charm won the Prix de Lieury by 5l.

Shareta, trained by Alain de Royre-Dupre,  is yet another Group race-winning progeny from the Aga Khan's broodmare band. By Sinndar and his fifth Group 3 winner, Shareta is out of Shawara and so a three-quarters sister to one of theHaras de Bonneval sire's three Group 1 winners, Shawanda. She won the Irish Oaks and the Prix Vermeille for the Aga Khan.

Sinndar began life at stud in Ireland at Giltown Stud where he stood initially at €30,000. He moved to France in 2006 after Shawanda's Group 1 successes.

Shareta holds an early-closing entry in the Group 2 Qipco British Champions Filies' and Mares' Stakes at Ascot on October 15.

There does not appear to be suchlofty plans for Sandy's Charm, however she is an improving type having, like Shareta, won a Listed race on her previous start.

Sandy's Charm is a first foal but despite that usual sales negative, she stil cost €70,000 at the Arqana October Sale where she was sold by Haras des Capucines and bought by Earl du Chene.

Her dam First Charm (Anabba) was Listed placed and is out of First Choice, a winning half-sister to Premiere Creation, who finished second in the Prix Chloe (G3) and third in the Del Mar Oaks (G1).
