Sunline: her half-brother Daline ran fourth in his debut on Thursday

Encouraging debut for Sunline half-brother

DALINE, a half-brother to the outstanding Australasian mare Sunline, made an encouraging start to his racing career on Thursday when fourth on his debut at Gosford in New South Wales, Australia.

The son of Shamardal was bred by J. J. Starr and is the eighth foal out of the Listed-placed Songline. He was sold to Portelli Racing for A$380,000 as a yearling at the 2009 Inglis Easter Sale.

Multiple champion Sunline won no fewer than 32 races and over A$11.5 million during her illustrious career. Among her 13 Group 1 victories were two runnings of the Cox Plate and the2000 Hong Kong Mile.
