Shadwell stallion Kayrawan retired

SHADWELL Farm stallion Kayrawan has been retired from stallion duty because of a recent cardiac issue. The 20-year-old son of Mr Prospector was standing the 2012 season at the Kentucky farm for $1,000.

Bred and raced by Shadwell Stable, Kayrawan enjoyed his finest moment when successful in the Grade 2 Tom Fool Handicap at Belmont Park. He also won a 6f maiden at Ascot on his debut in 1994 for Tom Jones.

From 13 crops of racing age, Kayrawan is the sire of 52 winners from 94 foals including minor stakes winner Dubai Sheikh.

Out of the Princess Margaret Stakes heroine Muhbubh, Kayrawan is a half-brother to the dams of Group 2 winners Haatef and Sayedah.
