Listed winner for former Darley shuttler Reset

SET THE TREND became only the second northern-hemisphere stakes winner for former Dalham Hall Stud resident Reset with a one-and-a-quarter length victory over The Rectifier (by Langfuhr) in the Listed West Sussex County Times On The House Stakes over 1m at Goodwood on Monday.

Reset - a dual Group 1 winner over 7f to 1m at three in his native Australia - shuttled to Newmarket from Darley's Australian base in 2005 and 2006.

The son of outstanding New Zealand sire Zabeel supplied Listed Rose Bowl Stakes winner Saxford in his first crop of European juveniles in2008, and Set The Trend gave the sire his first northern-hemisphere stakes win since then.

Reset has done better in Australasia, where his progeny include Group 1 Victoria Derby winner Rebel Raider and five Group 2 scorers led by Group 1 Crown Guineas runner-up Set For Fame.

Set The Trend - a five-year-old gelding trained by Andrew Balding for Corbett Stud - was bred by the Old Suffolk Stud out of the placed Woodman mare Masrora, making him a half-brother to 7f two-year-old winner Daisy Bucket (Lujain).

Bloodstock agent Bobby O'Ryan bought Set The Trend as a foal for 7,000gns from the 2006 Tattersalls December sales.
