THE Darley-bred Sepoy, already winner of the Blue Diamond Stakes, cruised to victory in the Golden Slipper at Rosehill on Saturday.

The exceptional colt is by Elusive Quality, whose top-level winners include Kentucky Derby hero Smarty Jones, Queen Elizabeth II Stakes and Breeders' Cup Classic winner Raven's Pass and four-time US Grade 1 winner Quality Road.

Owned by Sheikh Mohammed and trained by Peter Snowden, Sepoy was beaten on his previous start in the Jacob's Creek Sparling Moscato Todman Stakes at odds of 2-11.

He is out of Watchful by Danehill, whose dominance in Australia is illustrated by his presence in the pedigrees of the first five home.

Runner-up Mosheen is by his son Fastnet Rock; third-placed Elite Falls is out of the Danehill mare Niagara Falls; fourth was Masthead, whose dam, Balsamico, is by Danehill's son Redoute's Choice; and Altar, in fifth, is by Commands, by Danheill.
