Sunday double for
sons of Urban Sea

SEA The Stars has received plenty of attention in recent weeks as his first foals hit the ground, but Sunday's action saw his half-brothers Urban Ocean and Black Sam Bellamy steal the show.

Both were represented by winners, starting with Urban Sea's first foal, Group 3 winner Urban Ocean, who sired Market Rasen handicap hurdle winner L'Eldorado.

L'Eldorado was bred in France by Haras du Camp Benard, who stood Urban Ocean before his switch to Kilbarry Lodge Stud in Ireland. The son of Bering sired several smart jumpers during his seasons in France including the Grade 1-placed Really Hurley and Grade 3 Auteuil hurdle winner Gaelic Ocean.

Black Sam Bellamy, the fourth foal out of Urban Sea anda Group 1-winning brother to Galileo, was responsible for authoritative Naas bumper winner Samain. The five-year-old cost Gigginstown House Stud through Mags O'Toole £165,000 at the 2010 DBS Spring Horses in Training Sale.

Black Sam Bellamy joined Shade Oak Stud in Shropshire in 2009 following five seasons at Gestut Fahrhof in Germany. The son of Sadler's Wells is also the sire of David Bridgwater's promising novice chaser The Giant Bolster in addition to German St Leger winner Valdino.

Arc heroine Urban Sea is the dam of eight stakes runners in total, including three high-class fillies in Grade 1 winner My Typhoon and the Oaks-placed pair All Too Beautiful and Melikah. The mare's final foal is a two-year-old colt by Invincible Spirit named Born To Sea, who is in training with John Oxx.
