Arqana catalogue 241 horses for Summer Sale

ARQANA has catalogued 241 horses for their Summer Sale at Saint-Cloud on July 2.

Included in the sale are 124 horses in training and 91 two and three-year-old stores. Another 26 Flat-bred two-year-olds, including those by the likes of Royal Applause, Muhtathir and Dr Fong, will breeze on July 1.

The Aga Khan Studs sold subsequent Triumph Hurdle winner Zaynar for €110,000 to Highflyer Bloodstock at this sale a year ago, and the operation is well represented again with 18 entries including the Listed winner Sceptre Rouge and recent winner Zarkamar, a close relation to Zarkava.

Jean-Claude Rouget has entered the Listed winner Ticoz while hailing from Philippe Demercastel's yard is Chirango, who has been Listed-placed five times.

Heading the unraced entries on paperis the Niarchos family's Yango, a Storm Cat half-brother to Oaks winner Light Shift.

The two and three-year-old stores also contain plenty of eye-catching pedigrees led by the half-brothers to Grade 1-winning jumper Great Love, by Ballingarry, and Paul Nicholl's high-class performer Takeroc, by Daliapour.

Led by the €210,000 sale of Tip Dancer to Robert Collet, last year's sale saw 130 horses sell for a total of €3,480,000 and average of €26,769.
