SADLER'S WELLS' grandson Scenic Shot landed his third Group 1 on Saturday when the eight-year-old won the Doomben Cup over 1m2f.

The Daniel Morton-trained Australian-bred is by Dewhurst Stakes winner Scenic, also the sire of crack Australian sprinter Scenic Blast, winner of the 2009 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

A $36,000 buy at the Peth Yearling sale, Scenic Shot’s top-level wins have come over 1m2f and his previous win came in early last season. His dam, Sweepshot, is by Dr Grace, a son of Sir Tristram.
