Lingfield: Betfred Derby Trial (Group 3), 1m4f, 3yo

MAIN SEQUENCE (c Aldebararan - Ikat by Pivotal)

Bred by Flaxman Holdings Ltd in the US

MAIN Sequence is from the final Kentucky-bred crop of Aldebaran, who ran second to Mozart in the 2001 Jersey Stakes for Sir Henry Cecil before developing into a triple 7f - 1m Grade 1 winner for Bobby Frankel in the US.

The son of Mr Prospector stood for five seasons at Darby Dan Farm in Kentucky, latterly for $30,000, before his sale to Japan. He is the sire of eight stakes winners in all including the 2010 Prix du Calvados heroine Mambia.


Main Sequence is the first foal out of the Group 3-placed miler Ikat, a daughter of Pivotal from the further family of Oaks heroine Light Shift and champion Shiva.

VOW confirmed the favourable impression she made when winning her debut at Newbury last month with three-and-a-quarter length victory over Colima (Authorized) in this trial. With another daughter of Authorized, Estrela, taking third, granddaughters of Montjeu swept the first three places.

The ninth stakes winner by Derby hero Motivator, Vow is the third stakes winner out of Brian Haggas' top mare Frog following the high-class pair Beaten Up and Harris Tweed. Beaten Up, by Beat Hollow, defeated the high-class Al Kazeem when successful in last season's St Simon Stakes, while Harris Tweed, by Hernando, was recently successful in the John Porter Stakes.

Frog, a half-sister to Brazilian Listed winner Principe Dos Mares, has a two-year-old Sakhee filly named Tweed. She sadly died earlier this year after foaling a Sir Percy filly.

CHACHAMAIDEE (5 m Footstepsinthesand - Canterbury Lace by Danehill)

Bred by Cheval Court Stud in Ireland

CHACHAMAIDEE hails from the first crop of Coolmore's 2,000 Guineas winner Footstepsinthesand, as does the high-class Steinbeck who isbred on the same Danehill cross.

Chachamaidee was sold to Camas Park Stud for 130,000gns in 2007 and resold to Blandford Bloodstock for 135,000gns as a yearling. She owes her six-figure price tags partly to the fact she hails from a brilliant family: she is out of Canterbury Lace, an unraced Danehill half-sister to 1,000 Guineas heroine Virginia Waters, who produced Listed winner Emperor Claudius to Footstepsinthesand´s sire Giant´s Causeway.

Ascot: John Doyle Buckhounds Stakes (Listed), 1m4f, 4yo+

AIKEN (4 c Selkirk - Las Flores by Sadler's Wells)

AIKEN hasn't looked back since breaking his maiden at Chester last June. His ten-length success in the Buckhound Stakes was his fifth consecutive win and saw him become the sixth stakes winner out of Las Flores.

The Group 1-placed daughter of Sadler's Wells, a half-sister to the Group 1-placed Bach, has clicked with Lanwades Stud veteran Selkirk before to produce the Group 3 Golden Daffodil Stakes winner Felicity. She is also the dam of Challenge Stakes hero Sleeping Indian (Indian Ridge), now a stallion at Tweenhills Farm and Stud, minor 1m5f American stakes winner Spanish Spur (Indian Ridge) and Listed scorers La Paz (Nashwan) and Nationalism (Pivotal).

Las Flores has a two-year-old Medicean colt named Punditry.

Nottingham: Weatherbys Bloodstock Insurance Kilvington Fillies' Stakes (Listed), 6f, 3yo+

SWISS DREAM (4 f Oasis Dream - Swiss Lake by Indian Ridge)

Bred by Lordship Stud in Britain

Lordship Stud's high-flying mare Swiss Lake picked up where she left off in 2011 when providing the Kilvington Fillies' Stakes winner Swiss Dream, one of 53 stakes winners by Oasis Dream.

Four of the mare's five runners scored last year led by Swiss Dream, who won the Hopeful Stakes at Newmarket, and Swiss Spirit (Invincible Spirit), who was third in the Rockingham Stakes. Swiss Lake is also the dam of the Group 3-winning sprinter Swiss Diva (Pivotal) as well as the Group 2-placed Swiss Franc (Mr Greeley).

Swiss Lake, a 5f Listed-winning half-sister to the Listed-placed Dubai Princess, has a yearling filly by Dansili.

Haydock: Network Group Spring Trophy (Listed), 7f, 4yo+

RED JAZZ (5 h Johannesburg - Now That's Jazz by Sword Dance)

Bred by William F. Murphy and Annabel Murphy in US

Red Jazz, who enjoyed hisfinest moment to date when successful in the 2010 Challenge Stakes, is one of 22 Pattern winners by the 2001 champion two-year-old Johannesburg. The son of Hennessy sired five Group/Grade 1 winners including successful young sire Scat Daddy during his seven seasons at Ashford Stud in Kentucky and now stands under the JBBA banner in Japan.

Red Jazz is the best of two winners out of minor American three-year-old winner Now That's Jazz, who is a half-sister to restricted stakes winners Dare To Duel and Premier Mombo. The daughter of Sword Dance was sold in foal to Johannesburg's close relation Tale Of The Cat for $155,000 to the BBA Ireland at last year's Keeneland November Sale.

A $37,000 Keeneland November foal purchase by Mags O'Toole, Red Jazz was bought as a yearling by the BBA Ireland for €95,000 at the 2008 Goffs Million sale.
