HARAS D'ETREHAM stallion American Post delivered his sixth individual stakes winner on Thursday when his daughter Lily Again ran out a determined winner of the Star Stakes at Sandown.

This was a fourth career start for Lily Again, who had won her maiden in June before running second in a conditions race at Chantilly and then finishing fifth to Memory in the Cherry Hinton Stakes this month.

In the Star Stakes the Paul Cole-trained filly made all and, despite hanging left in the closing stages and the pack closing, found a second wind to run on bravely to the line in front.

Cochabamba became the first black-type horse for her Coolmore-based first-season sire Hurricane Run by finishing second, with Crying Lightening becoming the fourth black-type performer for another Coolmore freshman, Holy Roman Emperor, by coming home in third.

Lily Again is from the third crop of American Post, a son of Bering who won the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere and Racing Post Trophy at two, and thePoule d'Essai des Poulains at three.

American Post - who stands at Etreham in Normandy at a fee of €5,000 - has now sired six individual stakes winners, all at Listed level. He was denied a first Group winner at the highest level in May when his daughter Liliside was demoted from first place in the Poule d'Essai des Pouliches.

Lily Again's dam, the Faustus mare Sari, has been a fine servant for Rob Instone, who has bred and owned four winners from her including another black-type horse in useful juvenile Genari.

Sari was also owned and bred by Instone and trained by Cole to win two races, and is out of the Unfuwain mare Fire Lily, a Sheikh Mohammed cast-off who Instone bought for just 4,600gns.

Sari produced a filly foal by Kyllachy this year and is in foal to Three Valleys.
