Sarafina caps a big 24 hours for Refuse To Bend

A DAY after siring his second Prix Saint-Alary winner in Wavering, Whitsbury Manor Stud stallion Refuse To Bend is back in the spotlight, this time as the sire of Prix Corrida winner  Sarafina.

The Aga Khan homebred became her sire's first winner at the top level when winning last season's Prix Saint-Alary and later confirmed her position among the best three-year-olds of 2010 by landing the Prix de Diane.

Sadler's Wells' affinity for Darshaan has been well publicised and the majority of his sons have followed suit. Refuse To Bend is one such example; Sarafina and Wavering are each out of mares by Darshaan as is Group 2 winner Grace O'Malley and Listed scorer Alaiyma. Multiple Group 1 winner Refuse To Bend is standing this season for £4,500.
