Lawman: Prix du Jockey Club winner has made a strong start at stud

Debut win for Brightwells May topper

SANS Loi, the £100,000 sale-topper at the inaugural Brightwells Breeze-up last month, looks to have a bright future judged on his five-length debut success at Nottingham on Thursday.

The Alan McCabe-trained colt, owned by Mrs Z Wentworth, became the third winner from just five runners in Britain and Ireland by first-crop sire Lawman, and the stallion's fourth winner overall. The Prix du Jockey Club winner stands at Ballylinch Stud in Ireland for €15,000.

Sans Loi was the only lot to hit six figures at the Brightwells May Breeze-up Sale at Ascot when selling out of Willie Browne's Mocklershill consignment for £100,000 to agent Tom Malone.

Bred by Joan Murphy and the Lawman Syndicate, Sans Loi is a half-brother to two winners and out of Lady Elysees, an unraced Royal Academy half-sister to Grade 3 winner Gone For Real.
