Sans Frontieres wins the Princess Of Wales's Stakes at Newmarket

Ogden succeeds with pursuit of Galileo stock

Princess Of Wales's Stakes (Group 2), Newmarket, 1m4f

SANS FRONTIERES (Galileo - Llia by Shirley Heights)

Breeder: The Lavington Stud

WHEN the Maktoum/Coolmore stand-off first emerged, one of the first owners to try to take advantage at the sales was Sir Robert Ogden.

The benefits of such a ploy were emphasised at Newmarket when San Frontieres, a 450,00gns purchase at the 2007 Tattersalls October Sales, won the Princess Of Wales's Stakes. San Frontieres is one of a number of Ogden purchases by Coolmore sire Galileo made in the knowledge that he would never have to bid against the Maktoum family.

He is out of the Shirley Heights mare Llia, who was Listed place in the Pretty Polly Stakes at Newmarket and is dam of a Listed winner in Kootenay, whose victories include the Masaka Stakes at Kempton and Princess Elizabeth Stakes at Epsom.
