Flemensfirth has long been regarded as one of the leading lights of the Irishjumps stallion ranks, and Tidal Bay is the fifth winning black-type jumper sired by Coolmore's son of Alleged this season following the exciting Irish novice chaser Flemenstar, Knockfierna, Invictus and Medical Card.

Flemensfirth is set to end the 2011-2012 jumps season as the fifth leading jumps sire behind King's Theatre.

Tidal Bay was purchased for €5,800 as a foal at the Tattersalls Ireland November National Hunt Sale by George Charlton, who trained him to run second in the Grade 2 bumper at Aintree's Grand National meeting in 2006. Six weeks after that performance, he changed hands for a sale-topping 300,000gns to Howard Johnson at the DBS May Sale.

He is the best of two winners out of his unraced dam, who is a half-sister to the dam of Scottish Grand National hero Beshabar, another smart performer by Flemensfirth. Celebration Chase (Grade 2), 2m

SANCTUAIRE (6 g Kendor - Biblique by Saint Cyrien)

Bred by S C A De Lageneste-Haras De St Voir in France

AN OUTSTANDING round of jumping under Daryl Jacob handed Sanctuaire an unassailable lead  in this race, with the outcome sealed before they had turned into the home straight. At the line, the son of Kendor had 17 lengths to spare from Somersby.

The six-year-old - an €80,000 purchase by Highflyer Bloodstock at the 2009 Arqana Saint-Cloud Mixed November Sale - is by the 1989 Poule d'Essai des Poulains winner Kendor. The late son of Kenmare spent his entire stud career at Haras Reboursiere et de Montaigu in France and hit the heights on the Flat as the sire of Champion Stakes winner Literato and top miler Keltos.

However, he is also an effective sire over jumps with the likes of Or Royale, Tarxien and Vendor to his credit.

Sanctuaire is bred to be smart on the Flat as a brother to American Listed-winning miler Histoire Sainte, later the dam of Grade 3 scorer Violon Sacre. The pair are two of seven winners out of French Listed winner Biblique.
